WEBINAR – Discover how to apply the MED-GOLD climate services to different sectors

Summary:

These 4 webinars offer a brief showcase of the MED-GOLD climate services tools, each for a different food system, where the audience was allowed to ask questions on the functioning of the tools and provide feedback.

In the video for the grape and wine sector, partners from SOGRAPE and ENEA showcase the MED-GOLD dashboard, an easy-to-use visualisation tool that provides access to information on past climate and predictions of future climate at different time scales. The tool has been co-developed with users to ensure that it addresses their needs and expectations. You can access the dashboard on the MED-GOLD website, and by visiting: dashboard.med-gold.eu.

In the video for the olive and olive oil sector, partners from DCOOP and EC2CE showcase the MED-GOLD dashboard and the Olivia platform, a decision-making tool that provides guidance to farmers and technicians for optimal irrigation, fertilisation and pesticide application. In the framework of the MED-GOLD project, the platform has been upgraded based on feedback received by engaging with olive sector users in Andalusia, Spain.

In the video for the durum wheat and pasta sector, partners from HORTA and ENEA showcase the MED-GOLD dashboard and the Granoduro.net decision support system, used for the sustainable management of the durum wheat crop by farmers, technicians and agronomists in the Barilla supply chain. It provides advice for crop management based on observed weather data and future predictions. In the framework of the MED-GOLD project, a new prototype functionality using seasonal forecasts was added to the system.

In the video for coffee and other agri-food sectors, partners from UniMilitar and ENEA showcase the MED-GOLD dashboard and CASAS Global physiologically based demographic models that can be applied to various crop systems, including olive, grape, and coffee.
